On Sunday, Sept 28 2014 I pay a visit to the International Horse Show 2014. This wonderful horse show was organized by Selangor Turf Club Malaysia (STC).
Making its mark for the twentieth consecutive years, the International Horse Show has over the last two decades enjoyed the success in advancing the Equine and Equestrian Industry in Malaysia. Popularly known as the Nation’s Premier Equestrian Event, the three-day event will be showcasing the major components like equestrian competition, trade exhibition and a horsy carnival.
A community project for the Turf Club’s in Malaysia, these horse shows aim at promoting the growth within the country either through new participation in the sports and through the development of equine opportunities arising from the industry expansion.
This international horse show was great. It attracted countless visitors. The horse show was crowded with kids, teenagers, couples, adults as well as senior citizens! Indeed this was a great opportunity for the public to know more about horses. I saw every visitor went home with joyful and satisfactory smiles on face.
I think this fantastic horse show would not be possible without the great efforts and dedication of the STC management and staff.
Here I share with you some of great photographs I took at the horse show.
The International Horse Show 2014 which is organized by Selangor Turf Club Malaysian is really interesting and meaningful. I think this fantastic horse show would not be possible without the great efforts and dedication of the STC management and staff.
Wow! Impressive and colorful entrance welcomes more than 50,000 visitors.
Look! What an artistic horse sculpture. These huge and colorful horse sculptures are the creation by the young talents who have participated in the Horse Sculpture Painting Competition.
This is meaningful interaction during the occasion of the International Horse Show. From right: Mr. Term Boon Keng (General Manager of Selangor Turf Club), James Phua (Master of Horse Painting), Mike Kneebone (Director of Bloodstock and Sales –Asia) and David R Miller (Australian Horse Trainer).
I am trying the horse simulator. It is really a great experience.
Of course, the showjumping competition is definitely the highlight in the International Horse Show.
It is beautiful carriage, isn’t it? Hot favourite! Take a ride on different carriages ranging from Victoria Carriage to Mail Coach and more.
Pony Ride is extremely popular among kids. You see the kid is so enthusiastic to ride on.
The Equine Interactive Hub is another interesting program. The live demo on veterinary care conducted by Dr. Shir Kanth is capturing my attention.
Dr. James is demonstrating the dentistry care for the horses at the STC stables. He does excellent job.
I shop at the equine pro shops at the International Horse Show. Surprising I found an interesting horseracing sculpture imported from Hong Kong Jockey Club. I have bought this rare and only one piece in Malaysia according to what the shop manager told me.
Of course, The Selangor Turf Club has never forgotten about the disabled group. RDA is a voluntary non-profit organization that provides opportunity for children and young adults with varying disabilities to enjoy a safe, stimulating, therapeutic and recreational sport to encourage personal independence and confidence in their self-esteem.
